Check Free Develops EDI’s Corporate Actions Feed Interface

Check Free eVent Develops Interface for Exchange Data International’s ISO 15022 Corporate Actions Data Feed.

Atlanta and London, December 13th, 2005, CheckFree Corporation (Nasdaq: CKFR) today announced the development of an ISO 15022 compliant interface to Exchange Data International’s (EDI) corporate actions data feed in CheckFree eVent(TM), a powerful automation and workflow environment for corporate actions processing.

For EDI, an international provider of back office solutions and securities data, the release of the ISO 15022 compliant corporate actions feed reinforces the company’s commitment to ISO industry standards. With the support of CheckFree eVent’s superior connectivity and workflow technology, EDI users are now able to receive, process and share all of their corporate actions data without the need to convert to and from proprietary data feed formats, a process that is often time-consuming, processing-intensive and prone to error. Built on CheckFree’s financial messaging technology and supporting all major messaging standards, CheckFree eVent leverages an integrated architecture, providing truly global straight-through processing capabilities.

“Our collaboration with CheckFree illustrates the quality of our partnerships and the industry standard levels reached by our data suites,” said Jonathan Bloch, managing director of EDI. “We are confident that clients of CheckFree eVent, who have single or multi-sourcing back office data requirements, will benefit from a comprehensive view of event data, increased efficiency and reduced risk for their corporate actions processing.”

CheckFree eVent is the first solution to automate the end-to-end corporate actions process by automating the electronic receipt of corporate actions notifications and providing online management tools to manage the entire process. CheckFree eVent brings valuable benefits for fund managers, custodians and brokers involved in both domestic and cross border securities activity. The application allows these institutions to more efficiently validate specific corporate announcements and greatly reduce the potential risk that incorrect or conflicting announcement data could adversely affect subsequent operations, processes and business decisions downstream from that event.

Geoff Harries, director of STP product management at CheckFree Software said, “Due to excellent teamwork with EDI we were able to develop and deploy the CheckFree eVent interface rapidly. EDI customers that utilise CheckFree eVent will benefit from a fully supported ISO 15022 platform for their corporate actions data. CheckFree eVent provides an environment whereby proprietary information from diverse sources can be easily accessed and integrated into a single, standardised format.”

In September this year, CheckFree announced it has been awarded the SWIFTReady corporate actions label for CheckFree eVent which is built on the same financial messaging platform as the 2005 SWIFTReady Gold accredited CheckFree TradeFlow solution. Recently, eVent has also achieved the CityCompass Research B.I.S.S. Gold Accreditation for Corporate Actions Systems and the designation, along with the SWIFT accreditation, further reflects CheckFree’s commitment to technology leadership in the corporate actions space.
