2023 Newsletter

Have you had a chance to read EDI’s 2023 Round-Up newsletter? If you have not and would like to take a look, it is available on the insights page of our website: https://www.exchange-data.com/edi-2023-round-up-newsletter/

10 Reasons to go with EDI

In January, we are highlighting “Don’t rent data, own it”.

If you pay for reference data, corporate actions or securities pricing data, it’s worth asking how much control you have over it. Some companies lease you data – but you scrub your system when your contract ends.

Contrary to other data providers, at EDI, you own your data. Once you’ve purchased it, it’s yours to keep, even if you wish to terminate our service. EDI believes that data is an asset that should be owned.

Partner Spotlight of the Month: PRS Group

Political volatility has returned to the world. Now more than ever investors need to see into the future. In January 2023, we partnered with The PRS Group to offer the firm’s internationally-acclaimed, proprietary, quant-driven geopolitical risk and forecasting series: The International Country Risk Guide (ICRG). Independently back tested for accuracy and relevance for over 30 years, the ICRG uses over 22 political risk metrics and a dozen financial and economic risk variables to assess a range of risks vital to investors. Over 140 emerging, frontier, and developed markets are covered by the ICRG series.

Political risk variables include those affecting overall government stability, the risk of internal and external conflict, terrorism and corruption, and the risks to expropriation, transfer, and payment delays. Economic and financial risk includes those relating to real GDP growth, inflation, external debt and servicing, liquidity, and currency stability.

The ICRG series is the longest-running geopolitical risk series globally, dating to the early 1980s, and covering over two million data points.
